how to reinstall windows 7 without boot disc on aspire 5742

I have an Aspire 5742 that is stuck in reboot loop.  Cannot access bios to change boot location.  Installed a new Crucial SSD and still have the problem.  Now I want to re-install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  I went to a link that was suggested in this forum but was unable to install b/c it said  "The product key appears to be for software that was pre-installed on a device.  Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options."  This is the link I used, and the product   key came from the bottom of my Acer.

Any suggestions for where I might be able to download Windows 7?

Isn't a product key and product key?  Yes, it came pre=installed, and my recovery disks that I made when I purchased the notebook do not work.

Now what?

    Acer recovery media
if you are in the US you can buy it:
    http://store.acer.com/store/aceramer/en_US/eRecovery

if you are outside the US, you must call/email your regional Acer support service:

I would rather not buy it.  Is it a DVD that gets mailed to me?  I don't want to wait.  I am skeptical that it will work, since the recovery disks that came with the laptop don't work, I don't have faith that these will work either.

Is there any way to get a windows 7 download at no cost?

    Try gonig here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

Or just ***** it, there are non-cracked/non-illegal versions of it in torrents, I used a ***** on my other computer just to get the install media, then used my legit product key to register it & it all worked fine.

The microsoft link that you provided above does not work for me.  When I enter the product key that is on the bottom of my acer I get a message saying that my version is invalid because it was a pre-installed version.  End of story.  Can't use that option.  Yes, my acer came with windows pre-installed.

You mention torrents.  How do I find a ***** file?  I am not a big media user and would appreciate finding out how to "*****" the windows 7.

    Thanks,

I have been research ***** links for Windows 7 Home Premium and so far, none of the google search result links have been active.  They have all been removed or are no longer available.  So that suggestion has not worked out.

the link i gave you are the Acer official, so the recovery disks will work at 100%, normally windows 7 recovery are DVD or CD disks.

are you sure that your laptop has recovery disks?

normally Acer doesn't supply recovery media with their laptop but let the users create them.
