Hello everybody,

I want to upgrade my laptop to 8 gigabytes of RAM.

I'd like to know if I can use any SODIMM DDR3 2*4gb modules @ 1333MHz.

Do any other restrictions apply?

Are there any recommended manufacturers/models?

I ran the http://eu.crucial.com/eur/en/systemscanner and it shows 1 model compatible to my laptop, even though they have 2 or 3 SODIMM DDR3 2*4gb modules @ 1333MHz on their site.

Your help will be nuch appreciated.

I have a 64 bit win7.

My motherboard is JE50_HR

    Hello,

Your laptop's motherboard supports maximum 8 GB of RAM memory at maximum 1333 MHz.

    I recomend you to buy 2 x 4GB @ 1333 MHz.

In my opinion there won't be any problems.

In my opinion Kingston make very good RAM modules, also Corsair and Samsung. But it's your choice, If personally prefer KingstonSmiley Happy

Don't trust websites that sells RAM modules to tell you what it's compatible with your computer, ussually, websites like this recommend you what they want to get rid of Smiley Happy

    vsaloustros:
Yes, you should be ok but note the voltage - 1.5V.
    As I think you know, 2 x 4GB is fine but not 1 x 8GB.

    dukeice:
The 5750 is only specified as supporting 1.5V.
The maximum supported speed is 1333.

I had a question about your Acer Aspire... what kind of processor is in it? is it a pentium b950?

  • For info:

The 5750G came in three variants:

    I7-2820QM 2.3GHz (Turbo up to 3.4GHz)
    I7-2720QM 2.2GHz (Turbo up to 3.3GHz)
    I7-2630QM 2.0GHz (Turbo up to 2.9GHz)

The 5750 came in five variants:

    I7-2620M  2.7GHz (Turbo up to 3.4GHz)
    I5-2540M  2.6GHz (Turbo up to 3.3GHz)
    I5-2520M  2.5GHz (Turbo up to 3.2GHz)
    I5-2410M  2.3GHz (Turbo up to 2.9GHz)
    I3-2310M  2.1GHz
