Recovery of Iconia w510 with Acer usb erecovery media

I need to recover my w510 tablet back to factory and didn't have recovery disks so I purchased an erecovery media usb through the Acer store. I set the boot sequence to the usb in bios and start the restore. When IsoImageRestorer pops up I select create a system without a hidden partition, as the 32gb w510 doesn't have a recovery partition and then set the system partition ratio at 100%. It goes through the whole setup with 1 final reboot after all 61 apps/updates/etc have been applied. After it reboots it gives the error: Restore failed-cannot find image path: M:\D2D\Images\*.SWM I've tried this several times and get the same thing. Is there something wrong with the usb?

Thanks

I wonder if the M: (likely the USB drive) drive is changed to D: or something after the install is done. Will it boot to Windows after it's all done, or does it back everything off?

I get an error.  After the restore failure, I get a black screen saying windows failed to start and it might be due to a recent hardware or software change.  Don't know what it would be as I just follow the instructions on screen.  I've tried it several times with the same result.

I went thru the same purgatory several times a couple months ago with a purchased Acer recovery USB drive with the same results.  I played with the hidden/no hidden partition and percentages, and ended up downloading Win 8 Enterprise and putting it on a USB drive to install.  It worked flawlessly, then I was able to use the Acer USB recovery drive to completion.  No need for the install key since it's in the bios.  Download the Microsoft tool to make a bootable copy then download the free Win 8 Enterprise iso and put it on your USB drive.

I believe the UEFI rquires a 100 MB boot partition that may be hidden. This is not a recovery partition.

The enclosed is how my "stock" 32GB W510 is organized. Disk 1/D: is a 16GB sdcard.

Thanks for the replies.  I contacted Acer and they sent me a new USB but I received the same errors.  I had actually just downloaded the 8.1 iso off the Microsoft site and was going to try that.  Sounds like it might.  Why the enterprise version?

This is the site I used to download the installation iso.

Ace padgett, I'll also try the messing with the partition again but I swear I've tried everything as GeoH did.

Thanks again for the help.  This certainly should be easier than this.  I'll report back on results.
