Pressing the power button spins the fan for about 5 seconds and stops.
No other response.
Power light is on.
Battery charges.
I have reset the ram and used just one chip at a time.
I have connected the disk to another computer and scanned. Fine condition.

Do you see the acer logo on the screen or a blank screen.0

If you see the acer logo.
Step 1
1. Turn on the laptop and start tapping the F2 key.
2. Bios screen will appear.
3. Press F9 key and click enter key.
4. Press F10 key and click enter key.
Step 2
1. Trun on the laptop.
2. Imediately press and hold the ALT and continuosly hit the F10 key.
3. Troubleshoot - reset.0 -
The fan spins and stops and NOTHING else happens.
I have disassembled the laptop. Got it down to bare minimum. Same result.
So it figger it is either the MB is bad, with only the power part working.
Or the CPU is bad.
Other thoughts?

Hello johnson35,
1- Have you performed a Clear Cmos in removing the RTC battery?
2- Have you checked the output voltage of the AC adapter?

Thank you fo your response.
The power supply is providing just over 19 volts as it should.
The battery is soldered to the board.
I did do the "hold power button for 30+ seconds without battery and power supply."

"The battery is soldered to the board." Grrr!
Have you cleaned the DC-IN connector with a contact cleaner spray?
