So I asked Acer support about future updates...

" Hello,

At first, I would like to apologize that I haven't choose my true Country, but I think I will get more relevant informations from England's support than Slovakian.

Anyway, here comes my question. Is Acer going to further support its Liquid smartphones with new updates? I'm talking about recently released Lollipop Android version.

Can we expect something? More and more OEMs are updating their smartphones (not only flagships) but no words from Acer at all.

As far as I know, there are Mediatek devices with Lollipop, so I guess that leaving devices introduced in 2014 with 4.4.2 will be huge disappointment not only for current, but for more customers too.

I hope that you understand my concerns that I have, and I hope that I will receive full answer if we, as Acer customers, receive next version of Android on our Liquid Z500 smartphones.

Thanks for understanding
Regards"

That was email I sent to UK Acer support 6 days ago. Not to czech or slovak support, because I thought UK would have more infos.

An this was their answer..

Completely off topic answer. It doesn't even have something to do with further support, which was the subject of my email. And so, phone was purchased in Slovakia, but the same electro chain store are located in Czech republic.

It's like Acer doesn't even care about their customers. And those answers sounds like autobot messages.

Fine, but their answer was about that my device was manufacted in Czech republic, and I have to contact them if I have more questions.
    As I said, off topic.

not "manufactered in" but a "version for" or "sold in"

    I'm not an Acer employee.

EMEA_CUS1 is for EU if I'm not mistaken, but yes, you're right.

But that still doesn't answer my question, if Acer is going to support its smartphones with latest Android updates. Not only smartphones, but also tablets.

How is this "a solution" ?

The OP asked about future updates all he got was " I don't know"

Will the e380 be getting any further updates

    ( I don't know is not answer)

I accepted it as a solution.

Do you really think we would get better answer than "I don't know"? Silly you..

Acer never cared about its customers.  and not updating them at any cost. That's their policy.

Buy a device, and buy another next year because your current phone will be discontinued and not supported anymore.

And so, I don't ever think that any competent person from Acer that has something to do with software development for Android is browsing forums and hearing to user feedback.

I'm done with Acer. Z500 is my first and last phone from this company. And for further support, currently best answer for everyone is "We don't know".

Totally agree on everything you say.

No one from Acer reads these forum or even cares.

    HTC for me next.
