Aspire V5 power?

Member Posts: 3 New User

Hi All. bit of an issue with aspire v5-571p, it will not switch on, when pressed the led on the power button blinks rapidly for about 10 seconds then is steady for a couple more then nothing. I have tried a different power adaptor but still the same. Any ideas. I don't really need a new paperweight!!

    SEACIDER,

Please try a power reset for me, if you would.

Is it still in warranty?  AN HP I had several years ago had a stroke aout 2 weeks past the 2 year coverage I had.  A well known motherboard power connector oroblem, but no luck getting a break.

    SEACIDER,

There is a possibility that the power adapter has gone bad, you can check with the Acer technical support and see if you can order one. Does your battery indicator light have any lights at all when plugged in, it should be charging. If it's not, that could definitely be the power adapter, or it could be something more serious like a motherboard.

At this point I'd say contact Acer technical support in your area to see if they can help you or you can take the unit to a local repair technician and see if they can fix it for you.
