XB270HU displayport only?

Hi, i've read the first review of the new display and i saw it doesn't support HDMI.

I understand that the monitor is targeted at pc users and that G-sync requires Displayport connections, but this is really disappointing.

I also play on consoles and at the moment i'm using only a monitor to play with everything, since i don't have enough space to use two different screens.

I used to be really enthusiastic about the monitor, but i doubt i'll buy it now. Is there any hope for a future update with HDMI ports, and maybe an internal upscaler? People would throw money at ACER for that, it's a big missed opportunity.

    Shendue,

Sorry to hear your disappointment regarding the input features on that monitor. I agree, it's strange to see a monitor nowadays have very limited input connections. If you're interested, there is the XB270H model that has quite a few connection options, if that's more to your liking.

Yes, i saw that other models have multiple different inputs, yet they cannot be compared to the features of the XB720HU.

It's gonna be the 1st monitor ever to feature G-Sync on a IPS panel, and that's something i've been waiting for since the announcement of the G-Sync technology. I've never used TN monitors because, quite frankly, i don't like them. The color accuracy and viewing angles are just mediocre. I've been using a monitor from a different brand for years and i actually like it a lot, but i was ready to pass to Acer without a second thought, at least until i heard that the new dream monitor lacks important input options.

I have limited space in my room, so i can't afford a panel for pc and a different one for my gaming consoles, therefore i'll have to pass on the new Acer monitor, which is a shame, because sooner or later someone will make a G-Sync IPS monitor with multiple inputs, and i'll buy it for sure. That monitor could have been the Acer one.

So where exactly is the problem? Just buy a Displayport to HDMI Adapter and it will work on 60hz just fine.
