W510 - Windows to Go

I can boot my W510 from a "Windows to Go" drive but the touchscreen does not work and it comes up "no pen or touch input..."

Does anyone know what is needed to enable the touch screen ? (am sure Acer considers WTG "unsupported" despite being Windows 8).

BTW boots nicely from a Workspace drive, bit slower than from the SDD but not bad for a USB 2.0 socket.

Yes I have it working....you need to...

Install the drivers from the W510 driver page, but as you only have 2 usb ports (one for the WTG and one for a mouse) you'll need put the WTG drive in a PC with keyboard and mouse, download the drivers to the desktop on the WTG and then boot it up on the W510. Now run the driver install :-)

    Found some interesting things:

    1) you can make the W510 SSD drive visible from WTG with DISKMGMT.MSC even if BitLocker is running

    2) I connected a hub and have WTG, keyboard, & mouse all running happily

Tonight will combine the two and run the early driver set.

Added the early (1.01) driver set and everything is working fine now. Can boot from either the original SSD (Now 8 Pro with Media center) or the WTG Workspace drive with Win 8 enterprise. No surprises.

I do get ocasional reboots that just hang on the "rebooting" page & have to be maually stopped (hold down power key). Have also notices that the USB does not depower for a minute or so after the blank screen on shutdown. Anyone know why ?
