acer timelineu crashes upon closing screen

I have had my acer timelineU for about 3.5 years now. Around year one, I started getting these weird shutdowns where the entire computer would make a "pop" noise, and just go black. All functions just instantly stopped. This seemes to happen more frequently when I closed the screen. It finally got to the point where it was so frequent that it would shut off again before I could even start it up. I sent it in for repairs, and it returned good as new. I have now had this updated machine for two years, and the problem is resurfacing. However, it seems to only crash upon closing the lid, and also happen around 95% of the time I close the lid. I set the setting for what happens when I closethe lid to "do nothing", which stopped the problem for about a month, but it is now back. The error happens within six seconds of closing the screen each time, and in event viewer it gives the following error:

ALso, I don't know if this means anything, but it insists on running CHKDSK every startup after this happens, and never finds any errors. This has been the case across the two identical machines I have access to, and across that repair in which they replaced the motherboard.

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

have you done a system restore on this machine before??

and IF I am reading this correctly,,, you have the device turned on and you are shutting the lid?? may I ask why you shut the lid while system is on?? Just trying to gather some basic information... I see two errors  on the log you provided...

please try this and than let me know the status ... turn the device off through normal steps.. unplug the power supply and remove the battery... hit the start key a few times to clear the static and plug in the power cord. than replace the battery...

start the device in safe mode by pressing the start key and than the ALT and F10 at the same time.. go into safe mode by selecting the with command prompt.. once in .. go to device manager and check to make sure all is updated and there is NO tags on any device.. at the top where it says view...please make sure to view the hidden items... make sure all is good there..

than bring up the command prompt in ADMIN level... to do this  press start and in the search there type CMD it will come up at the top and right click on it and select ADMIN... you will than have the black command box with the C;\  type the following and let it run  if there is any errors on programming or on the Hard drive this should fix that..you may have to run it a few time if you get any errors just repeat please..before logging off run your anti virus program and anti malware too..

log out and shut down.. wait a few minutes and try to start in the normal fashion.. let me know if you have any questions or have any errors.. thank you

Yes, I have done a system restore before. It wasn't even a system restore, per se, it was a literal "rip everything out of the computer and replace it", including the motherboard. But yes, it was restored. I shut the lid because I am too lazy to manually put it to sleep each time I leave, and shutting the lid (should) do that. Errors in the log? Like is there something I can do about it to give you better information here? I restarted it following the steps you gave me. There are no tags on any devices, hidden or otherwise. I am in the admin CMD, but you never gave me a command to enter... Ignoring that for now. Also, I'm almost certain this is a hardware issue, not software. The contingency on physical interaction with the switch indicates that. Any clues there?
