my laptop hates this! Everything went smooth until I clicked on the final exe file. nothing. so I used run as administrator. nothing. waited and tried both again. nothing. someone stopped by and I showed them how unresponsive it was and lo and behold I got an install popup! clicked yes or run, whatever, and the window disappeared and nothing else happend.

it's like something is missing thats needed for exe files Cat Frustrated

    Any antivirus installed?
Try to stop it and retry to install, try also from the main installer.

if you still have issue with BT adapater, as last resort i would use the Acer erecovery and restore windows 8, then update to windows 8.1.

probably something went wrong during the update process.

    I'm not an Acer employee.

As of yesterday I have an entirely new Acer issue that takes precedence over this one. If I am able to resolve the broken hinge I will return to work on the bluetooth mystery.

Thank you for your help thus far. I appreciate your time and effort.
