The touchpad on my Acer V5 is not responding. Under Device Manager it says it is working properly. It also says my driver is the latest available. What can I do?

on device manager, right click the touchpad and choose uninstall, then reboot and check if it works.

I tried that too. well, not on the touchpad since it's not working. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling two different drivers, neither of which worked. Luckily I have a touchscreen so I can still navigate

you can try a "quick" test, download a liveCD and test if touchpad works or not.

the quickest i know is partition wizard liveCD:

    http://www.partitionwizard.com/partition-wizard-bootable-cd.html

burn the iso file to a CD or USB media flash, power off your V5, insert the bootable media and at boot press F12 to choose to boot from it.

once booted, choose the first option, once in the "desktop" check if mouse pointer works.

if you want to test on more enviroments:

    Download Hiren's boot cd
    http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

you must create a bootable media as CD or USB pen from the .iso inside the downloaded .zip file.
    boot selecting Mini XP

and check if mouse pointer works

or download Ubuntu liveCD and test in a full linux enviroment

    http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
