Acer W510 (64G, keyboard docked) : How to boot into USB recovery media?

I've exhausted online resources, but still cannot find how to do this. Please advise.

As usual, the first thing I do with a new machine is to create the USB recovery media, which I did on a USB harddrive successfully.

However, I cannot verify that W510(64G, with keyboard docked) can book into the USB harddrive.

Can anyone explain in detail how to do that? I feel unsafe to keep the machine, as in case the built in drive fails, I would have no way to recovery it, though I already created the recovery media.

Thanks a lot!

You should be able to enter recovery mode by inserting the USB recovery drive, then going into the computer's BIOS, and adjusting the boot order to boot from USB drive. For instructions on how to enter the BIOS on this device, visit http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27687.

On most systems, a 16 GB flash drive will work. I have created a backup of my W510 on a 16 GB drive.
