Is there a solution that works to enable WiFi after upgrading to Win 8?

I have an Acer Aspire V3-551.  I upgraded to Win 8 but didn't use the Acer upgrade assistant. Now, every time I boot up, the WiFi is disabled.  I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Acer website, still no luck.  The solution I was given from Acer was to re-boot and press F2 to go into the BIOS, then load up the default drivers.  This works, however, it is VERY annoying to have to do it EVERY time.  Is there a permanent solution to this problem?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you loaded the latest Windows 8 drivers from Acer's website? You can try adjusting your power setting to make sure Wireless is enabled. You can adjust this by pressing Windows Key + W, then type Power and select Power options. Make sure your wireless card is enabled. If you are still experiencing problems you may try restoring your computer to Windows 7 and using the upgrade assistant to reinstall Windows 8.

Thanks for your comments. I found another thread with a similar problem which was solved by updating the BIOS. I followed those instructions and now the WiFi works fine.
