Switch 10 after sleep wifi only, no internet until disconnect and reconnect

On Switch 10 wifi and internet connects perfectly on normal powerup; however if I let it go to sleep or put it in sleep, upon waking it only has wifi connection, not internet. Internet comes back fine if I disconnect from wifi and reconnect. Irritating to have to disconnect and reconnect throughout the day.

It seems to be a combination of power saving technology and the drivers. Try setting the wireless to not allow the OS to power it off. You'll get worse battery life but the network will stay up when you wake from sleep. Once there is a driver update it should wake up reconnect properly even with power saving on.

It seems to me that the problem is with settings of the network, or you have a low signal, that's why after waking up it has no signal.

How do I set the wireless so it does not turn off when the computer sleeps?  And will the driver automatically update when there is a new driver updaate or is there somewhere I can go to update it now?

f3flight, When I tried to go to the link for the updated driver, the webpage was written is some foreign language (Russian?)....also, I explored to determine the make of my network adaptor, and it is not Realtek. Under device manager it lists it as Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter. I'm assuming the Realtek driver would not fix this issue with my Broadcom adapter. Also, while I was looking at the adapter I went ahead and had it 'update the driver' - it searched the internet and reported that the most current driver was already installed. Any other thoughts? Appreciate your help....this problem while not dibilitating, is super frustrating. Thanks.

Yup, sorry about that. I didn't realize these two things - there are models with Broadcom WiFi and that Realtek download page is in Russian =). Since you have a Broadcom chip, you may need to look for a newer Broadcom driver. Using "update driver" in Windows or in Acer app/support website is useless, in your case, otherwise the problem would have been fixed already.

What is your current driver version? You can check it in Device Manager if you open your Broadcom Wireless device, under Driver tab. Check Driver Date and Driver Version. Is your version 5.93.99.204? By Googling I can see it was released in April 2014 or earlier. Can you give me the VID and PID of the device? You can find that under Details -> Property -> Device instance path

Probably it is not going to be VDI and PID since it's SDIO and not USB but anyway please post your instance path, that should help determine the exact chip used. Also please post the first line from Hardware IDs (next element in Property), though I guess it will be similar

While I'm blind-searching, here are three drivers for you to try.

    Firstly, download these drivers:

    v.5.93.100.207 (combined WiFi+BT! be careful) http://www.dell.com/support/home/ar/en/ardhs1/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=4K2CY

v.5.93.98.207 (WiFi driver only, version is older then Acer provides, but may fix the problem nonetheless)  http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_139506_1

v.5.93.102.10 (most recent. Seems to be for a different chip, not sure it will install, but you can try) https://support.lenovo.com/vn/vi/products/tablets/thinkpad-tablet-series/thinkpad-10/downloads/DS041473

Make sure you have a separate machine and a USB stick to download and transfer WiFI and BT drivers supplied by Acer if nothing works for you, or download them too. Before installing the drivers, uninstall your current WiFi driver. You can do this via device manager (Driver -> Uninstall button). You will lose internet, keep that in mind.

Also, if the above options do not work for you, try this - http://stay-hydrated.org/blogpost/technical-solutions/lenovo-wifi-connection-problem/

It basically tells to turn off power saving for Bluetooth, who knows, it could help...

Let me know how it goes. (and don't forget to post your Device instance path and Hardware IDs)

Driver version is 5.93.99.204 Date 2/7/2014

    Device instance path: SD\VID_02D0&PID_4324&FN_1\3&18BDEB84&0&0

    Hardware ids:  SD\VID_02d0&PID_4324&FN_1  and SD\VID_02d0&PID_4324

Have not tried any of the other drivers that you listed ...yet.

Judging by PID the chipset should be BCM 4324 or BCM 43241 (not sure if these are different). I'd suggest trying to install the newest driver from Lenovo (3rd link) first.

Thanks. I will attempt to do this the beginning of April.....too busy using computer for the next few weeks to have to worry about having it totally off-line. In the meantime I'll keep disconnecting and reconnecting.....and disconnecting and reconnecting Smiley Happy

I'll post again after I try out the Lenovo driver update.
