I own an Acer AO 756 and I  need to restaure the Windows 8 system disc and install the 3 Recovery discs from Acer since in Mexico last November 2014 a computer shop meddled with the Windows 8 system. I have been UNsuccessful in installing the System disc as it mentioned UEFI as the problem.  Acer people told me I need to format the Hard drive first by going for information in the Acer community . So far, I have not seen any information on how to proceed .

Any Help ??

i suggest you to create a bootable USB or CD media from Hiren's boot cd .iso
    http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
unzip the zip file, burn the .iso file to CD or USB pen/external HDD
then boot from the burned media and choose mini-xp from the options, once in the desktop, double click "command prompt"

    then type
    diskpart
    then on diskpart type
    list disk
take note of the correct disk ID to erase
    type
    select disk x
(x is the ID of your HDD to erase)
    type
    clean
    type exit

    shutdown Mini Xp

now boot from your recovery media

If it does work , I will be pleased to send you the Kudos and maybe some token of monetary appreciation.

Let me say that I discovered the UEFI was taken off my computer in Mexico , it seems.

I hope that the link you provided will not charge me loads of money to purchase the item.

    Thank you.

No money to pay, totally free.

probably you need to disable UEFI and Secure boot (if available) to boot from Hiren's boot cd.

please notice that UEFI must be enabled to re-install your OS from the recovery disks.

Smiley Wink I discovered like you that my UEFI file was missing and so could not re-boot to use the system disk and recovery discs.

To make a long story short, I decided to use the services of knowledgeable students from the junior technical college near me; they are now loking into this and promised me to solve this issue by Tuesday .

I decided not to install the mini-XP as as advised.

I will let the Acer community know how this issue has been resolved .
