Brand new Aspire R14, with Windows 8. The computer will either: not connect to Wi-Fi, or connect intermittently. Have tried several different networks (home, work, school), and all of my other devices work except for this computer. Help!

    barefoottripper,

I would recommend that you attempt to download the latest wireless driver for your unit and install it. There are three listed for download, Atheros, Broadcom, and Intel, and if you are uncertain of which wireless card that unit has you can click this link on the drivers page for your product and it will scan and tell you: http://global-download.acer.com/SupportFiles/Files/HWID/APP/HWVendorDetection.exe

I would also suggest that you have perform updates to your operating system, if you haven't already.

Since you haven't been able to connect at any location I can't really narrow it down much more than that. Should those steps fail, I would contact Acer Technical Support for service, the wireless card could be having a hardware issue.

Thank You for your help.  Everything is updated, now the only network I have trouble with is Home. I use a wireless router, ane everything else in the house is able to pick it up without problem (tv, cell phones, other computers).

    What am I doing wrong?

    barefoottripper,

One suggestion could be to restart your router now that your connection seems to work at other locations. How old is your router, there might be some updates (firmware) that need to be ran for it. You can always contact your ISP and have them walk you through some steps if everything else is connected without issues.
