Bought the Acer Switch on Sunday. Only used it for about an hour or so. Activating the programs on it McAfee, Microsoft Office etc.Got on line to my email. Suddenly it starts getting slower. then I start getting asked if I want to install all these things that seem to be extra with...something McAfee? I think I said yes to some things that I thought were part of the program. Then it got slower - things disappered from the main screen. Then I started getting notices that there were trojans being detected that McAfee was going to handle. This happened MANY times. They all were called Artemis! and had their own numbers. Soon after that I lost the screen. I spent some time trying to figure out what the hell. I kept getting more Artemis notices. I couldn't use charms or anything else. Fiinally I did Ctrl alt delete and it gave me the task manager. through there I was able to see that McAfee was using a tremendous amount of juice. For the next period of time (don't know how long- I was in computer panic) I looked at things by opening them through task manager trying to see what was up. I continued to get Aretimis notices and notices seemed to be popping out of nowhere telling me they were done downloading things I hadn't agreed to download. McAfee  updated it's self several times. I turned it off several times to see if it needed that.

Since that time, all i can get is and black screen orTask Manager and anything I can get to through task manager.

I want to like this thing but I am thinking I should just take it back to Costco.

Can anyone help me? I would appreciate any help or ideas you have.

Kim

The black screen been reported by some Microsoft updates. Restoring windows would resolve the issue.
Please power OFF the computer by pressing the power button for 4 to 5 seconds.
Restart the computer and get to the windows login screen.

From the login screen, click the power icon in the lower right corner of the screen.

While holding Shift key down on your keyboard, click Restart.

Click Troubleshoot and select Reset Your PC.
    Click Next.
The system will reboot and begin Preparing to Reset the PC.
At the Reset your PC screen, click Just remove my files. Click Reset.

Click the Kudos kudos-thumbs-up.png to say “Thanks” for helping! select "Accept Solution" if your issue is resovled.

Oh thank you! It is in the process of resetting. I will hit the kudos button but I still have a questions. How do I keep this from happening again? Obviously I will need to update at some point?
