B326HK sporadically won't detect displayport

About 1 in 10 times when my computer turns on or wakes from sleep, my B326HK monitor won't detect my displayport 1.2 connection. When this happens I usually have to power cycle my monitor and computer multiple times before it gets a connection again. This happens every few days. It's not often enough for me to consistenly reproduce it, but it's increadibly aggrevating when it happens.

I'm running Windows 8.1 with 2 NVIDIA GTX 970 Strix in SLI. Has anyone else ran into these problems?

This is likely a similar issue to what I reported in a thread below yours, about how the B326HK sporadically loses the signal over displayport when waking or turning on the monitor. I haven't found a solution, but a better quality cable seems to help with the issue -- and may help with your issue as well.

The cable that comes with the monitor isn't that great, and many of the aftermarket ones apparently leave pin 20 connected, which is contrary to the DP 1.2 spec, and which seems to cause trouble for many people.

I found this link on NVIDIA yesterday https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/777412/geforce-drivers/black-screen-on-windows-login-344-16-and-11-on-displayport-with-gtx980-sc-fix-info-posted-11-25-/post/4376386/#4376386. It sounds like there's a problem with many of the latest GTX cards. The solution seems to be a driver hotfix and a BIOS updated. I've contacted ASUS for the BIOS update for my GTX970 STRIX and I'll confirm if that works when I get it.

I agree with Venner on the cables. The cable that comes with my monitor was an approved and tested displayport cable by having the DP stamped on the connector.

Somewhow it was bent and I had to replace it. I ordered one without knowing about some of the problems with some non approved cables and I started having the same problems with my AMD video card.

After reading about it I bought another cable, for the same price as the one before but with the DP stamp on it, and all my problems went away.

There seems to be many cable manufacturers not following the proper wiring guidelines from displayport.org and that is why so many people are having troubles with their displayport connected monitors. My advice is to get only DP stamped and approved cables. It has nothing to do with the price of the cables, it is about following the proper wiring guidelines.

    I hope this help.
