Aspire E 15 Start mouse problems

Member Posts: 4 New User

Hello all,

Recently bought this Acer Aspire E 15 Start from Argos, it has Windows 8.1 installed and from the start we have had mouse/touchpad issues, the mouse is fine when moving and clicking etc but when I want to scroll down or up a web page it is very intermittent, it will sometimes move correctly but more oftern than not will be jerky and move either 2 fast or not at all then all at once. This is very frustrating and I am considering taking it back to Argos to swap for a different brand.

In device manager I have a HID-Compliant mouse installed. I have looked on the Acer site for updated drivers but there is nothing.

Anyway thanks for reading so far,

Conbrue. :-)

I don't know if this will work on yours, but it has worked on other E15s. Make sure your install mode was UEFI. I'm almost sure it was.

    SOLUTION

So guys after deep research and troubleshooting I found that you need to keep notice of a few things at time of installation:

Installation Mode: UEFI (only)- LEGACY would create touchpad issues.

after installation of windows just follow the driver installation hierarchy

    1.Intel NB_Chipset_M Baytrail-M

    2.Intel I/O Driver

    then rest of the *****.

Note:After doing all this make sure your touchpad is active >> Fn+F7

If you look in Bios and it is set to UEFI, then Acer installed it in UEFI.
