Problem with an Iconia W-5.

in 2015 Archives

from the Start screen, if I scroll to ann app tile and touch the tile (to start the app), the screen flashes and returns to the Start screen.  Any one have any suggestions?  Thank you.

     First check if the windows tablet displays the correct date and time of your region.
     
    To clear the Live Tile cache, pull up the Charms bar (Win + C) on the Start screen, go to Settings and then Tiles. Within the next panel, click the Clear button under “Clear personal info from my tiles”, and that’s it.
     
    You may also enter “cleanmgr” in search to locate the Disk Cleanup Utility application through Start Screen and make sure you select everything for maximum effect. you need to clean out thumbnails and temporary files. Hit OK to implement the changes, and you’re good to go.

    Sharanji:  Thank you for your response.  I did both ("Win + C" and "cleanmgr").  I still have the same problem:  For example, from the start screen, if I tap the "Pipes" tile, the tile rolls as if the program is about to open, then the screen returns to the Start position with start in the upper left corner.   Same thing for Minesweeper, etc.

    I'm afraid I don't, I have seen or heard of the behavior before. If it were happening to me I'd get on the Microsoft forums and ask there. It is much more likely to be a Windows thing than something specific to the tablet.
