V5 552G: Replacing the atheros wifi card with intel 7260AC

Has anyone put an intel 7260 (N or AC) into a V5?  I honestly don't care if its the 552G, I just want to know if its working.

I am done with reading numerous "solutions" from various forums that inevitably won't work, this simply isn't worth my time when a new card is only $35... ($25 if you go for the N version).  Less if you just opt for the usb wifi adapter which is currently working for my wife but she hates dragging it around and her piece of mind is worth WAY more than $35 bucks to me Smiley Happy

Acer seems incapable of handling Anything having to do with the problems stemming from their choice of wifi cards to put in these otherwise nice machines...  its really quite disappointing.  Support and customer service are as important to me as price and both are severly lacking right now.

Get The Problem With The Drivers Fixed Acer, It Is Not A Hardware, Settings or Router Issue!  This thing worked fine for 6 months till windows was upgraded so its on you to get your suppliers providing the proper upgrades to their drivers!!!

My Lenovo with an intel 7260N running win8.1 works flawlessly everywhere in my house. Same with my ipad1, iphone 5s, LG G2 and Dell PC running winXP!

Why doesn't your atheros work on 8.1?!?!

I tried the Wireless-N 7260 in a V5-551 and never could get it to work correctly. It would work, but not great.

Thx for the reply.  Yea, I'm reading mixed reviews on the 7260 but the one that is in my Lenovo ideapad has worked great, wifi and bluetooth, since I bought the laptop.  It even survived the win8 to win8.1 upgrade without even a hic-up Smiley Happy and I gotta get something before my wife confiscates my laptop. Can't let that happen I luv this ideapad!
