My Aspire 5720z laptop was accidentally dropped and now the monitor screen whites out, how can I fix

My Aspire 5720 z laptop was accidentally dropped, and now the screen whites out to black. Do I need to replace the monitor screen ??Is a new video card needed ?? Please help...

    Sorry that the unit was dropped, but at this point we may not determine what is wrong, it could be any component, I would consult a Harware Tech to find what is exactly failing,.

    Hello phlebbb2000,

     

    Have you tried to connect your laptop to an external monitor or LCD TV in using the VGA or HDMI ports?

    Note: [Fn]+[F5] --> Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both.

    VGA terminal works fine, but, I like to take my laptop with me and lugging an additional monitor would be counter productive...but, ty .

    If an external monitor works, then you most likely have a defective screen. It is very easy to replace it yourself. Youtube has a lot of videos showing you how to do it.
