Acer recovery management will not run on switch 10

Per the owners manual of my Acer switch 10, there are steps given to "create a recovery backup" and a "driver and application backup". But, the Acer Recovery Management will run. When I click on the Acer recovery management app, I get the security permission screen. I click 'OK" to continue. Then nothing happens. I tried several time. I also tried running it as an administrator without success. I have a 32gb flash drive ordered. Does the flash drive have to be inserted in the switch 10 for the app to run? If not, What am I doing wrong

you have to insert the USB pen to run the recovery management, by the way if the Acer recovery management doesn't work, you can use the windows integrated recovery.

What happened was Windows looked for something to put the recovery on (e.g. a flash drive) and did not find anything. It will not allow you to create a recovery drive from C:.

Also I find that "recovery media" needs to be at least 8GB and a "System Image Backup" needs to be at least as big as the internal SSD (typically 32 or 64 gb)

I connected a 20gb laptop HDD in a hard drive enclosure into to USB port on the keyboard. Windows quickly recognized the drive and I opened it. When I launched the Acer Recovery Management app, again, it did not run.
I understand that I can use the windows integrated recovery. But, I've had this new switch 10 less than two weeks. Is it too much to expect all the software to function properly. Especially a program as important as system recovery.
Somehow looking around this site, I accidentally accepted the above answers as a solution. Please, the problem hasn't been resolved yet. But, I do greatly appreciated the responses I've received.

I understand your opinion and agree but for safety reasons, i would suggest you to do the recovery media with windows recovery software, the Acer erecovery software when working, it just starts the windows recovery software when asked to create recovery media.

then you can backup all your personal data and do an OS refresh to check if it will fix Acer erecovery software, as far as i know there's no download link to Acer erecovery.

I did a Windows refresh. The Acer Recovery management running problem was not resolved. I purchased this Switch 10 through Microsoft. Ya think that makes any difference?

I wouldn't be surprised, I know that in the past Microsoft has replaced the OS build with their own on tablets they sell through their store, breaking features in the stock bundle. Go ahead and give the Microsoft recovery stuff a try and see if that will do the function you need.
