e3-111Has anyone replaced their screen on the Acer E3-111?

My screen is cracked and I need to replace it.  There are no visible retaining screws on the front of the panel/bezel arond the display - or around the base by the hinge.

Has anyone performed this task?  I suspect there are just clips around the outside that I need to work free - but I'd like to be sure!

I have replaced screens on Toshiba, Acer, Dell, Gateway and HP Notebooks. This website is one of the best to purchase your replacement screen. It has videos on how to do it. It is a very simple procedure.

Here are step by step instructions with pictures, you can also download and view a Video of how it is done.

The price for E3-111 is $54.99. there are oter E3's listed since you did not mention if it is an Aspire or something else,

You can chat with a CSR.

They are in Seattle, WA and also in Vancouver, BC

Thanks for the reply.  It's an Acer Aspire E3 series (111-C5AL) - the screen is 11.6"

I've looked at the site you mention, but this specific model isn't shown - possibly because it's quite new (2014).  The absence of rubber feet at the corners- that usually hide fixing screws, suggests to me that the complete bezel is clip fit only.

Also, I'm UK based so looking for sources this side of the pond :-)

    Cheers,

    Mike

    Hello Mike,

    Your LCD panel is:

Hmmm .... I took the plunge and removed the screen from the unit.  For anyone else considering the same it's a doddle.  Plastic clips are all that retain the bezel to the lid.  So work a credit card around the inside to unclip them off.

Removing the screen by the 4 screws at the sides.

This screen is labelled: N116BGE-EA2 Rev: C2

I think this is quite different from the one quoted by Laurent_14, no?

    Hello Mike,

Your LCD panel is a CHIMEI INNOLUX N116BGE-EA2 (10ms) and the other one is AUO B116XTN02.1 (8ms)-(similar product for E3-111).

The 720 is touch screen tablet - the E3-111 is not touch screen, so I asked at AJ Parts and this one did the job: N116BGE-EA2

Dead easy to remove the connector - but be careful with the tape that secures this in place - as you need to reuse it.
