I receive the below message when I turn on the Acer Aspire One after seeing the Acer logo.

Pressing the "alt" key with the "F10" when logo appears does not do anything.

Any help most appreciated!

    what's your OS?

press F2 at boot to enter BIOS, once in BIOS please check if your HDD is listed on SATA devices.

    if not, your HDD is broken;

if yes, go to the boot device list and report here that list

    Yes, under information it shows:

"HDD Model Name:" and HDD Serial Number:"

    Under boot priority order:

    1. IDEO: Toshiba mk1652gsx

    2. IDE1 :

    3. USB FDD :

    4. Network Boot : Atheros Boot Agent

    5. USB HDD:

    6: CDRM:

LET ME KNOW IF IT CAN BE FIXED.

    I APPRECIATE THE HELP.

    It's set on IDE O

I can't use the other option "Network Boot: Atheros Boot Agent"

    It has MS XP

    Thanks for the help.

enter BIOS pressing F2 at boot, try to find an option to disable boot from network, press F10 to exit and save, try to boot.

if your battery is removable, take it off and press the power button for around 30 seconds, then put back the battery and try to boot again.

if it can't boot, you need to create a bootable USB or CD to check if HDD is working.

i suggest you, hiren's boot cd:

    http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/

download the zip file, unzip it, and burn the .iso to a CD or USB pen at boot from that.

at boot select Mini xp, once in the desktop try to browse to your HDD, if not possible, your HDD has some issues.

I tried downloading Hiren's Boot CD but Norton would not allow.

I appreciate what you've done but looks like it can't be fixed.

    Thanks for the help.

I downloaded a similar one and it didn't work.

I assume the HDD went and the cost to repair this 7 year old netbook isn't worth it.

    Thanks again for the help!
