Connecting to tv

pc to bush tv worked great with hd lead. I then moved pc to another tv (also Bush) and cant get it to work with the hd lead-tv says no signal even though pc picks up the tv .I've trolled the forums tried everything from on/off, fn and f keys to ctrl-alt f keys. I have tried every resolution available, checked the driver was up to date, sent the signal to the hdmi by every means possible and followed the advice from argos where the tv was purchased- nothing has worked. Argos just said put it back to vga that still works but sorry this is not good enough. There surely must be a way to get the digital handshake back or why on earth is there a dysfunctional hdmi port on the pc in the first place? This was a Christmas present and I was delighted at first-now its just disappointing.

have you tried other HDMI ports on your TV?

if your PC can list your TV as external monitor, than the HDMI connection is working and it's something on your TV or cable not working properly.

Thanks for replying.  To be honest I'm not sure what it is.  The sky box and console work on the same tv with the same hd lead.  The pc still lists the tv as an external monitor but the tv still says no signal.  Think I'll just stick with the old reliable vga.

probably can be a wrong resolution or refresh rate.

you can check as i told you, right click on desktop and select screen resolution.

then click on the TV and see if resolution is ok.

Yes we tried both-we went through every res. refresh rate and combo to see would one work and nothing.  Waiting for Acer support to get back to us but they'll probably just tell us to do something we've already done-we even reset the tv and that didn't work.  Doomed to vga I reckon!
