Hello all,

I'm strugling since 2 weeks with my brand new Acer Aspire E5-471-52B6 which has touchpad issues...

Symptoms: some times (this is very erratic) the touchpad freezes.

I'm not trying to run a different OS on the machine: I use the Windows 8.1 64-bit that comes with the machine.

I've downloaded and reinstalled the drivers (Intel Chipset, Intel serial IO, Synaptics Touchpad, Elantech Touchpad) from Support & Service web site...

And finally I've done a full system restore.

The touchpad responds is still erratic.

What is wired is that the touchpad is shown as an HID mouse in the Windows Device Management (and not as a Synaptic or Elantech touchpad).

An external USB mouse works fine.

What should I try now?

Thank you!

    Windows 8.1 x64.

    Acer Aspire E5-511-P461

It freezes when you do not tooch it more then ~2 minutes. When it freezes just click Fn + F7 Twice, and it works again Smiley Happy

    I love Acer Smiley Happy

Lately they hurry with release of new models, probably the competition presses..

But this is just a nonsence, much trouble was when mouse pointer where unenable at all.. =))

It was discussed on that forum, and was found a solution that helps someone, but someone - NO. To me it helps, and I am happy for it =))

But now promlem is with installing win 8.1 on SSD drive,it does not see it..

Has someone expirience with installing SSD to E5-511P ?
