Hi. My tablet can't boot even enter the BIOS with Power+VolUp. The behavior is green light is flashing. Tried to discharge then charge again full. Since I hit power. Green Light become flashing again. Any combination to a hard reset? I think I lost my UEFI or something.

Thanks,
Joao

Windows tablets are notorious for hanging up on shutdown. In general holding the power button down for 15-30 seconds will force a shutdown (in a darkened room the screen will go from very low illumination to off. Also if you press the Windows button on some machines it will vibrate if hung.

This may occur is the device is set for automatic background updates. I always set mine so all "wake on" elements (particularly "wake on LAN") are turned off and updates are set to check and notify but not install. MS does not like this.

Hi. Thanks fort helping. If I press power will pass from flashing to static. Ok. If I power is flashing again. Windows key doesn't do nothing when flashing or static. There is no combination to reset BIOS settings? Eg: In Windows Phone I can do a hard reset by key combination and all settings are lost. I will keep trying... Thanks

I don't have a W4 by my W3 flashes the green light about seven times (unless an update is going on in whch case it may contimue flashing for a while - talking hours depending), just leave it plugged in and flashing and check every half hour or so.

If that doesn't work my W3 has a reset hole. Does the W4 ?

Yep. Reset stop flashing. Tablet Charge, Recognize CD Rom. But now will not boot. Can't enter bios. Nothing up on the screen. No logo no nothing.. Tablet is on but simple can't star from CD or anything else. If I hit volup + power CD power on and of several times. Now no flashing. Simple is dead. Bad luck I guess. Any more workaround before activate warranty? Thanks

    Tinkerer

my understanding that if you can't access bios with buttons combination upon powering on the machine, nothing much you can do about it.

Nope, sounds like going through the warranty process is best at this point. At least it tends to not be too painful. Smiley Happy

OK to get into BIOS, pressing power/volume repeatedly does not work.

    1) Make sure it is off. REALLY off.

    2) Press volume + button. Do not release. Press and hold power button. Keep holding both until a screen appears (may take several seconds).

Just tried on my W3 and took about five seconds.

User guide for W4 is a little different (page 22)

(To) Enter the computer’s BIOS - press and hold the Volume Up key before pressing the power button (release both buttons after pressing the power button).

    YMMV.

Thanks to all. Great reply's. I had to activate warranty.

Like in all technology's there is always many things to improve. This is my first experience with ACER. I'm considering as bad luck on my Tablet.

I'll keep in mind all of your suggestions' Thanks
