Liquid E700: 2 SIMs from the same carrier

I put 2 SIMs from the same carrier (US Cricket on AT&T network) and only the one set for 3G services is able to registered to the network. The other will be searching for signal forever.

Is this expected behavior? Does mutiple SIMs only work with different carriers?

Since only the SIM used for data connection will work on 3G/H+, the other 2 are forced to work under 2G band, so you must check if your carriers supports 2G connections. (some carriers uses only 3G and upper, 2G works on roaming)

I think you are right. I just did a manual network scan and find that AT&T doesn't have a 2G network in my area any more. But can the other SIMs work with just GSM for voice only?

i don't know USA carriers but here in Italy 90% of carriers works on 2G voice without issues.

Just find that if I set data connection and 3G services to SIM1, SIM2 can regieter to the network. It (SIM2) can send and receive calls.

But if I set data connection and 3G services to SIM2, then SIM1 can not register to the network.

Do the SIM slots have some sort of priority?

    Nope.

Ask your carrier about that, maybe some contract limitation or newer/older SIM with only 3G network coverage.

Ya. I don't think so either. And magically it all works today. AT&T was probably messing with 2G cells around my office. Smiley Happy

    Thanks for all the help.
