Best is to aquire a powered USB hub and an external DVD drive... Perhaps borrowed instead of purchased (should be well under $50 if you decide to purchase)? It should be feasible to copy the contents of the recovery disks to a USB stick, but other have run into problems when trying that method.

tried that i have a powered usb hub. when i try to recover a message keeps coming up, INVALED SOFTWARE,

and its the disk i got with the iconia W4. I also tried to copy the disk to flash drive but it says the same thing. if iam trying to just use the software on the tablet why do i need the recovery software. i don;t have to on my computer with win 8.1.

That sounds like you have a bad DVD - do the top level contents look like this (dir/a):

     Directory of F:\

    05/08/2013  07:15 PM    <DIR>          ACERBOOT
    06/14/2012  12:06 AM                 0 ACERBOOT_FOLDER
    05/08/2013  07:15 PM    <DIR>          BOOT
    05/08/2013  07:15 PM    <DIR>          EFI
    05/08/2013  07:15 PM    <DIR>          GAIA
    05/08/2013  07:15 PM               166 ImageInfo.dat
    05/08/2013  07:18 PM    <DIR>          Images
    05/08/2013  07:18 PM    <DIR>          Patch
    05/07/2013  12:30 PM               353 RCD.dat
    05/08/2013  07:18 PM               311 Restore.dat
    05/07/2013  06:58 AM             1,342 SystemCD.dat
    07/26/2012  02:14 AM           398,156 bootmgr
    07/26/2012  02:14 AM         1,117,424 bootmgr.efi
    05/08/2013  07:15 PM    <DIR>          sources
                   7 File(s)      1,531,680 bytes
                   7 Dir(s)               0 bytes free

Good news is that it sounds like the boot is getting through the UEFI phase.

As to the second bit, Acer only puts the full recovery partition on larger SSDs. If you bought  one with a 32gb SSD, you received one or more disks. My W510 came with two CDs and a DVD. The W3 just came with one. Am running Win 10 on the W3 at the moment and it is nice. Did need a special DisplayLink driver for the dock though.

Aha! You got a W4 disc with your W3? No wonder it's wrong... Smiley Happy
