Where can I download the drivers for my monitor? The Acer driver download page only gives me an HCKX file.

    Hi

Have you tried through Windows Update? Just make sure you receive updates "For Windows and other products from Microsoft Update"

Hi there I just got this monitor and I tried to download the driver from Acer because my monitor only has the generic windows driver installed.  I tried downloading the driver from acer and it was just the hckx file which can't be installed or executed at all.  Someone needs to look into this.

What i have learned is what a HCKX file is. I believe you submit this to Microsoft for evaluation. It has to be certified by Microsoft then it can be released. There we have a driver that we can use or something like that. Until that happens i believe theses monitors will always be generic monitors in Windows. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/jj124587.aspx

lots of times you can install drivers that are unsigned but they are not guaranteed to work and you're lucky if they do work.

That is why Acer has to get it's act together and get this done. Acer has to sign there driver first then they send it to Microsoft where it is certified by then it is placed into Windows data base so when you plug in you monitor it is detected by Windows because it is in there data base you are up and running period. A lot company's get by this because they send you a driver with there stuff.
