Just got a Switch10 and there is alot of bloatware. Whats the best way on removing it?

-uninstall each unwanted factory program then run ccleaner to clean the drive a bit?

-Make an image to an external hard drive (keep this as original backup) then format the drive and install full win 8.1?

-any other suggestions welcome....

thanks!

Easiest and safest is the first mixed with the second, make a recovery set and then remove unwanted apps. Not much need for cleanup, it's not as if fragmentation is an issue with SSDs. Smiley Happy

    Thanks for the reply!!

Would the factory partitions be locked at all? I had just read this on another forum, that some win tablets have locked partions.

So my plan will be to backup the factory setup I have now to an external hd. Then wipe the Acer Switch and install Win 8.1

Let me know if this is a good approach..

I think it will be in my best interest to keep the recovery partion.

so, that leaves me to format the other, and do a clean win 8.1 install

    Update...

After getting the free win10 upgrade. I made a bootable usb for win10.

Booted up from the usb, deleted all partitions and reinstalled windows. Everything works great.
