Hi,
I have an s7-191-6400 which has a 2x 64gb m-sata main drive in raid mode.
Upon looking into this I am gobsmacked that they have put in a custom ssd and a very small one at that for the big money they are charging for this unit. I initialy thought they had used two seperate cards but alas no.
So I'm guessing that it will not be possible to swap it out for a standard m-sata card as the interface is looking for two drives from the one socket.
Can anyone confirm that the drive cannot be updated with a standard unit?
TIA for answers
PS there is no speed advantage to raid 0 with ssd making Acers implementation worthless .
I have unraided mine and set to drive c and d so at least I don't have to copy out and back in if I update the os.
There is no loss of speed in doing this.

Hello,
I don't understand because I found two SSD 128Gb for your laptop:
KN.1280L.001 - SSD BOARD 128GB SATA 3 MSATA (LITE-ON)
KN.1280Q.001 - SSD BOARD 128GB SATA 3 MSATA (PHISON)

Hi,
I have the Liteon 2 x 64gb = 128gb on a single m-sata card.
My question was can I put a standard m-sata card ( ie 1 x 240gb = 1 x 240gb) into the s7?
I'm guessing not, if anyone has tried, or knows if it's possible please let me know.
TIA

as this is an Acer site one would think they'd have techs responding to at leasst simple questions like mine.
Oh well it says a lot about customer services.
