My Acer Aspire 5733 Laptop no longer recognises any USB device I plug into it?

Not sure If I am posting this in the correct forum?

My laptop has decided to stop recognising any USB device I plug into it.

I have tried to uninstall the USB drivers and reinstall them and this has not worked.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hoping to be able to speak with a technician from Acer if this is possible?

Thanks

Usually if reinstalling the drivers doesn't work it will be a hardware problem related to the USB controller on the motherboard.

Try uninstalling all the  USB controllers in device manager, reboot and let Windows reinstall them.

    Thanks for your response.

I did try that beforehand but no joy, I still had the same problem.

I will try it again perhaps, is there anything g you can suggest that could fix the problem?

    Thanks again.

You could try a linux live cd and see if they work in linux.Download Ubuntu, burn iso to a cd and boot from it.It will ask if you want to try it or install it. Select try it. It will not change anything on your HDD. If the USB still doesn't work it's hardware.
