Hi

My Acer aspire 5542 stopped working today, there is no bios information or acer splash, just a blank screen, I have tested RAM memory, changed CMOS battery and power supply, does anyone have any new idea?

This issue sounds familiar. Have you tried to HDMI or VGA out to an external TV or monitor to check that your video adapter is OK. You may have to toggle these displays on with the Fn+F6 toggle key combo. Report back.

    Thanks

OK. The next steps are to remove the battery, screen bezel, hinge covers and bottom cover to re-seat the video ribbon cable connections. The ends of the ribbons may be taped to the screen, video card and cam connectors. Try to re-seat them a half dozen or so times to clean the contacts.  Then, before putting it all back together, carefully re-insert the battery and power up. If still no screen, then check to see if your video adapter card is a module that's plugged-in or soldered to the motherboard. Report back. Thanks
