I own an Acer 24" Predator GN246HLBbid monitor which should be capable of running at 144hz. However when I look at my graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 760) it says that my current resolution is 1920 x 1080, 60Hz. I really need help fixing this as it feels like I'm not getting everything out of my monitor. I use a DVI cable but it's possible for me to switch to a HDMI cable if that makes any difference.

    Download monitor drivers:

install it and check if 144Hz is available.

Ok this might sound pretty wierd but I have no clue how to open the icc-profile, is there some program you need which isn't preinstalled on every computer. Also in the document,  it says in the second line "INF File for Windows Vista/W7" even though i installed the one for Windows 8 64bit.

I'm sorry but this is primarily about colors and I dont see how this can solve my original problem which is adjusting the frequency (hz) on my monitor. I however found something called "Controlpanel for Intel HD-Graphics" (name might not be 100% correct since I don't have my computers language set to english) where I'm able to change my frequency but the only options are 59hz or 60hz.

Sorry for not responding, my video card crashed and I got it replaced. This also solved my issue with getting high enough frequency
