I bought the Acer aspire x1400 a while ago and I was wondering if the the motherboard with AM3 with 938 pin will support an upgrade from Athlon II x2 215 to Phenom II X4 945. Will a 220-240 watt psu be enough for this upgrade of about 30 watts difference between the two.

I have that cpu currently. Does the motherboard support an cpu upgrade to a phenom II x4 910e as it only has 65 watts power consumption like the athlon 215? If not does anyone know what the latest bios update is for the P01-A2 motherboard

Ok thanks. Is that for my bios version during march 30,2010? Is there another bios update that supports the 910e cause I cant find my model on the model search.

  • Yes because there is no other version available.
