Anyone get the W700 to connect to WPA2 Enterprise? Been trying for a week!

Hi all,

I've tried just about everything under the sun to get this tablet connected to the WPA2 Enterprise Cisco network. I've rolled back to Windows 7 drivers as suggested many times, I've pre-configured the network authentication in the advanced wireless settings, I've tried forcing a Windows 7 driver install into the System32 directory. NOTHING has worked thus far. I cannot believe something as trivial as connecting to a wifi network is causing me so much pain.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm out of ideas and without being able to use this tablet at work, it's just an expensive iPad to me (except my iPad connects to WPA2 Man Happy )

Thank you SO much for any suggestions. Oh, and I've tried all versions available from Acer as far as Windows 8 drivers for Atheros.

To better help you with the issue you are experiencing we will need more information.

Could you please describe any messages or errors that you are receiving?

What WiFi mode is the network operating in? B, G, N (single or dual band)?

That is somewhat difficult to answer. I simply get a "Cannot Connect" message in Windows 8 after about five minutes of hanging on the connection once my user credentials are inputted.

This is in Wireless G. We do not have N connectivity yet.

    Thank you for anyhelp!

I had the same problem. I simply could not connect to my router no matter what I tried. It asked for password and once I entered that I just froze.

I never did solve the problem though. I got the connection up and running by pressing the connect button on my router instead. Connecting by password does not work.

That's what I was afraid of. I read all over the net how this specific wireless card is unable to connect to certain WPA2 Enterprise infrastructures with no fix other than installing Windows 7 drivers. That also did not solve my problem Smiley Sad

Everyone is making fun of my W700 because It needs an external USB Wifi Dongle to connect to most wifi... :/

Seems like the problem is with Cisco, not with Acer / Broadcom.

I have reproduced this on a Acer W510 and a Dell Latitude 10.

    Thanks for your input!

I read that one of the solution is to install a Windows 7 driver on Windows 8. So acer can bring out an new driver with solves the problem. I like the driver solution more then that i have to request every WPA2 Cisco network to update there routers.

I hope there will be a solution soon and else i have to sell my acer and by the surface pro.
