ACER ASPIRE E5-511- ADD BOOT DEVICE IN UEFI MODE.
HI. I bought an Acer Aspire E5-511 notebook with Linux preinstalled. I want to install windows 8.1.
I created with Rufus a GPT bootable USB flash with win8.1 image. In UEFI mode the laptop cannot reconize the USB, I turned off secure boot, put the USB-HDD on top of boot priority but in vain.
In legacy BIOS mode I can boot and install the windows , but the touchpad mouse does not work, only USB mouse functions.
How can I add USB flash to boot in UEFI mode ?
Thank you in advance.

You did it right, but sometimes USB interfaces are not recognised by the system, i had some problems with a pair of USB pen that didn't work as boot device but another one worked smoothly.
just remember to have your HDD or USB pen formated as FAT32.

if you have an .iso image, you can use rufus to create a bootable USB pen.
http://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=en_US
must be formated to FAT32 and must be bootable for UEFI only.
keep in mind, that some USB pens have compatibility problem as i wrote in my past post.
remember to disable secure boot too from BIOS.
