All of a sudden, when i open Chrome it will not take me to my homepage - says my connection is no longer private?  When i called Comcast for help, they are saying the code is saying there is something wrong with the date set up of the computer? But when I switch users, I get on just fine - no warnings/errors - problem is that it is hubby's desktop and he uses with the damaged user ...  seems very odd to me....  any suggestions?

Thanks

Donna

doesn't just happen with chrome - also with Explorer - both do not work under one of my users...  they both work under the other - which is why i am so confused

Then i would think it is the USER Profile that is bad, several methods to scan the Profile and fix it. also many times some 3d part programs will mess up a Browser.... Usually I recommend a total uninstall. of the browser, and aince all others will take from IE save you IE setting then delete IE and Chrome, reboot, then add IE back, add the settings, check IE and if all ok then you can install Chrome, then it should be OK when it takes the settings from IE... that is how i do it, but you can do in which ever browser first...

go to control panel, program and features, then turn windows features on or off, locate IE and check the box, after you re not IE is gone, and to reinstall IE do the same only check the box. then you have a NEW IE next check time and insure it is set properly for you time zone... many times M$ set to Pacific Time

have you tried to refresh or reset ? is does seem if removal of IE and now Chrome will not launch then you have a mojor issue,, like maybe corruption of system files... due to chrome and IE or FF are seperate.. i remove IE from many systems since the client does not use or like, so Chrome or FF are then set as default... and should not interfer with any of the starting... unless you have CORRUPTED System files... to fix. command prompt as admin. logo + X -> cmd prompt as admin --> SFC /scannow and you do this until it says NO more ERRORS... or you can refresh or reset

Fantastic, now install IE again an see if it restarts OK, if Chrome works fine then Im sure IE will also, but if you do not need/use IE - your in business... as you are...Smiley Happy
