Software (not drivers) for Touchpad on a V3-572G?

My touchpad works fine with whatever driver was installed by the factory, but I'd like to have the software (if any exists) to customize the scroll areas, corner buttons, etc.

I can't even figure out what brand the touchpad is - on the drivers page there are driver downloads for both Synaptics and Elantech for Windows 8.1. But they're just the drivers anyway - I'd like the software for whatever brand is on my laptop.

Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

You'll find the brand of device in the Device Manager like this:

Open Control Panel --> Device Manager --> Expand mice and others pointing devices ---> You'll see the touch pad.

    Thanks for the reply.

I checked and there's no driver listed there for my touchpad (though the touchpad is working).

Right click on the touchpad device --> Properties --> Details tab - Hardwares Ids --> Copy and paste the lines contained in Value.

Could you post a screenshot of the device manager?

As you can see in the image below, there's just the HID-compliant mouse listed. The info to the right of that is the properties for that device.

It looks like it's a Synaptics touchpad and I downloaded and installed the driver for that, but I can't find the software for the touchpad. On a previousl laptop I had a Synaptics touchpad with software that allowed me to customize the scroll areas, corners, etc. That's what I'm trying to find...

You must be signed in to Windows as an administrator?

Are you asking me or telling me? Smiley Wink

I'm on the only account set up on the computer - yes, it's admin.

    I know why:

    Windows 7-64:

    TouchPadSynapticsTouchpad Driver17.0.6.21121.8 MB2014/05/15Download

    Windows 8.1-64:

You haven't the software. Smiley Wink

Download the Windows 7 driver. Unzip it and read the file readme.txt. Perhaps it's compatible.

    LOL

good catch Laurent, probably you can install the Windows 7 and then update just the drivers to windows 8.

would you mind to try this drivers (100% trusted website)?

they are 18.1.24 Synaptics official drivers and software.

if they worked, please give solution to Laurent_14, since he got the right idea.
