I have a Travelmate P455 supplied by my work but the fingerprint sensor is not setup. It has an EGIS TEc ES603 sensor. I have installed the Acer EGISTEC Windows 7 x64 driver and the ACER Bio Protection software.

When trying to register a fingerprint for a pring the Wizard software tels me 'unable to detect fingerprint device'.

Hopwever it shows in the Device Manager.

Anyone have a clue where to go on this?

Use the following steps to setup your fingerprint with Acer’s Bio Protection.

Click Start, then All Programs. Click Acer, then select Acer Bio Protection.

Select System Settings, and then click Yes when prompted to start the setup Wizard.

Click Next, Enter you Windows Account password, then click Next.

Select a finger to enroll your Fingerprint, then click Next.

Swipe your finger when requested. It is recommended to swipe in an upward motion. You will be asked to do this three times.

    Click Next, then Finish.

At next login, you must swipe your finger in the fingerprint reader to access Windows.

Try using BioExcess, instead of Acer Bio Protection it should work.
