Research is showing it had a 320 GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive that did a rapid death.  What hard drive can I purchase that is higher quality but compatible to this machine that would be a stable drive?

Thanks,

  • Hello marlena,

You'll find below the original HDD models for your Aspire E1-571-6659 (NX.M09AA.021):

    HDD 320Gb - 5400RPM - SATA2 (3Gb/s) - 8Mb cache - 2.5"

    Seagate - ST320LT020

    Toshiba - MK3259GSXP

    Toshiba - MQ01ABD032

    Western Digital (WD) - WD3200BPVT

What is the brand of the old HDD?

    Hi Marlena,

Laurent is right, it would be helpful if you tell us the model of your HDD. It seems to me that any 2,5'' (9.5 mm height) drive should do the job. The type of drive depends on the usage. The larger the RPM and the Cache, the more capable the drive is to handle more demanding software or games.

I apologize for taking so long to respond, basically I work lots of hours a day on two jobs. The drive that failed is a 320 GB WD Scorpio Blue WD3200BPVT hard drive.

    Hello Marlena,

No problem. I advise you the Seagate model indicated in the list.
