Hello.

My notebook, Acer 5755G is after warranty and it's overheating. I have to clean a cooling system and change thermal paste. On the Internet I found few guides, but there people are dissembling this notebook almost completely... Do i have to do it or can I just remove a back cover to get access to cooling system?

I'd be greateful for an answer, thanks.

Taking apart the laptop completely is the suggested method because you need all the space you can to work with your unit. Be sure to buy any supplies to ground yourself while working with the electronics as static electricity can damage your unit.

Thanks but I'm not feeling confident enough do dissemble laptop completely so I'd prefer just removing back cover. Is there possible to remove just a back cover without dissembling everything?

Unlesss you find a compartment to do so , then no. If you don't feel comfortable doing so, take it to a qualified professional in order to get this done Smiley Happy It is fairly complicated but not impossible if you see guides online for doing this.

  • You could also try an Air duster to reduce the high temps temporarily.

Should I also change the paste on Chipset and GPU (GT540M)?
