Acer iconic w3-810 32 bit. Upgraded to win 8.1 about 3 days ago.

How/why there are 2 recover partitions shown ?

I attempted to shrink the one on the right but no such options on right clicking it.

The one at the begining of the drive is what is used to do a "factory reset" of Windows. The second one is the Acer recovery partition, but since the 32gb version of the W3 doesn't include a full recovery, I'm not sure what function it has.

It is possible to delete that partition and extend the main partition, but you have to run a bunch of diskpart commands and a how-to is a little beyond my ambition at the moment. Not like you would be gaining much anyway.

    Thank you.

Now , this tablet comes with 2 recovery disks. Aren't they the equivalent of "factory reset" AND/OR Acer recovery ?

If so, why the bother of giving me a recovery partition as well ?

Given the limited disk space capacity ( 32GB ), wouldn't it be better served to bundle everything into C drive ?

Factory reset isn't the same as recovery; it just deletes all the account and files and puts everything back to "new". Like I said, since the actual recovery media is not on the internal storage, I don't know what's on the Acer recovery partition.
