Internet connection drops after computer sleeps

Hi there.  I purchased a Veriton X4620G last year and it's working fine.  There's just one thing which bothers me.  The internet connection drops when the computer sleeps.  When I waken it I have to click a few times on the network icon in the taskbar to reconnect to the internet.

This has never happened on my previous desktops, and the two other laptops in the house at the moment don't have this problem when they go into sleep mode.  The internet connection remains.

Is there any way that I could eliminate this problem with my Veriton?

Thank you.

I've found a way to prevent the internet connection from disconnecting when my computer goes into sleep.

If I close any browsers and also close my email program before the computer goes into sleep, I find that when I awake the computer that the internet connection has gone.

I now DON'T close my browser OR my email program and find that when I wake my computer from sleep mode that my internet connection is still on.

I'm happy with this though it may only be a workaround.  At least I'm now not losing my internet connection when I sleep. Smiley Happy

Go to Device Manager click on "Network adapters" double click on your "ethernet lan" select "Power management" tab uncheck "allow computer to turn off this device to save power" reboot and try if this solved your issue.

Thanks, but the box was already unchecked.

By the way, it's a Broadcom NetXtreme Ethernet adapter.

Have you the latest drivers installed?

Yes, I've checked and the driver is up-to-date.

Double click on your Broadcom LAN adapter on device manager, go to "advanced" tab, on "property" look for power saving or similar options and try to disable it and reboot.

I would check BIOS settings too if any "power management" is available.
