Acer Aspire S7 - 391

Does not boot. Stays frozen at "Acer - Explore Beyond Limits" Screen.

I typed Fn + Esc, but cannot reach BIOS. Typed Fn + F2, Fn + F12, and nothing.

I need help! Is there a file I can use to boot it from USB?

I got the same error, it was unable to boot, i got "no bootable device please restart system" after countless tries trying to boot/ battery reset i was able to get onto bios and boot menu, i tried changing bios to Legacy mode and it shows the SSD in failure status, i asked for an exchange.

I had to RMA the ultrabook only waiting 2 weeks to get the replacment -.- but the new one seems fine. Not sure what the problem is but i was suspecting the SSD.

I was given this advice when it happened to me:

    1. In order to initiate the recovery process, you have to fail the boot process.

    2. Failing the boot process means, you have to turn the laptop on, wait until the unit reaches Acer and Microsoft logo. When you see these logos, immediately power off the laptop. You have to repeat these process three times.

    3. In the third rebooting process, it automatically goes to the Repair mode and you will get Reset option.

    4. Please click on Recover Options and reset the computer

Worked for me to get into the BIOS - I then had to boot from a USB drive to get it to work.

I was unable to get to the microsoft logo. It would actually get stuck on the acer logo and wouldnt go forward. Also i tried recovering from USB and that would fail also. I dont remember the exact error message but i tried few times recovering from the backed up USB.

Obviously not an unusual problem. I would like to know what the actual problem is.

This is the first time in 30 years I've had any problem like this that impacted work.

I'll deal with it when i'm back but given the reliability I'd rather have money back than a repair going forward.

This solution looked promising but did not last long. When it did work, it always muted the speakers. Ran Drive diagnostics, drive OK. Found one partition that was 36% fragmented. It would not let me defrag that partition. Ended up doing the Recovery Refresh option. It took all day to do because it loads 8.0 and then dozens of updates before it loads 8.1 and then more dozens of updates. But it has been a successful resolution to the boot problem so far.

This laptop V5-571PG was bought in last August in 2013 which cost me lots of bucks.

It has this blue screen for a long time. Each time, it can be recovered bia several clicks. This time it will not. We seldom use the laptop, just used it several times after we bought it.

Recenly we used it slightly frequently, the problem also happened so frequent. The error messages varied a lot. Most of them are MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. After someone checked the laptop for 10 days, we just figured the problem may caused by meomory failure. Since the installed windows version can not be started, a new Windows 8 was reinstalled from USB. The newly installed windows also crashed a lot giving lots of errors, still most of them are MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. The MANAGEMENT_MANAGEMENT means memory problems stated in Microsoft website. Ocasionally the Windows run successfully, after checking the memory using Windows memory diagnostic tool, it says "the memory has problems".

I just reported the problems to Acer, hope they can get my laptop fix under warranty. Their low level of customer severive said it may be not covered under wanrranty.

Their answer make me sad. This error happened within one year. I did not report as error came out first time since it is normal if computer sometime run wrong. I thought it was software probem. The situation is that We did not use the laptop a lot. The total times may be less than 10 times after buying the Acer laptop V5-571PG. Currently I am waiting for reply from Acer customer service. The key  point is that the laptop may has error from the begining while I just noticed this error in the end of one year warranty because of less usage of the laptop. As a manufacter like Acer should make better laptop which can be last more than one year. If just at the end of one year, the laptop will not work. How can custormer trust their laptop? This is my first high-end (expensive) Acer laptop which it has problems.

I just hope Acer can fix the problems under their warranty.  I will let your guys know once Acer customer service replied.

currently the posted error can only be fixed by replacing bad memory (total 8G) hardware.
