A1 810 fail after KitKat OS. Netflix crashes.

I received the message that the update to the OS was available. I did the update without any issues. Running Android KitKat now. Problem is that Netflix is an epic fail now. It is all garbled and had video rendering issues. It's useless.

Looks like others having the same issue with their A1 810, but there is not apparent solution.

Tried to remove Netflix and reinstall. That's not really possible. You can only remove the update and not the whole program.

Tried to side load an older version of Netflix as recommended on a different forum (XDA developers) to no avail. Program still has video rendering issues.

Since I am not the only one, ***** Did they not test this before sending out the "upgrade"?

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Please advise. ArtmanR

Hi, I am having the exact same issue.  I have tried all different versions of the App, and the only success I have had is using the Netflix App version 2.1.2.  It's pretty old, but plays just fine.  Main issue I have is that this version has no Chromecast support, and I want to be able to cast the Netflix to my TV using a Chromecast.  I am lucky I can do this from my phone, but it pisses me off that the Netflix has crapped out after the KitKat update.  Hope they resolve this soon, and it's horrible using such an ancient version of Netflix..

I might have to try this.  Where did you find that version?

Can't recall exactly, but you can google it and "apk" to find a copy to download. You can also try the versions on this page, buy nine gave me a permanent fix:http://apksteed.com/tag/netflix-apk/

2.1.2 version worked on mine.  For now anyway.

How come no one from Acer is acknowledging this problem?
I called Acer support in Sweden and the guy was going to look it up and call me back. I'm still waiting for that call back...

This is ridiculous, the update is almost six months old and Acer won't even say if they are working on a fix or not?
