Dear All,

I recently purchased an Acer Aspire E1 with Windows 8.1. The computer has become un-responsive and i do not know how to reboot it. None of the buttons are working. HELP

    Hi Oluwalolay,

If you hold the power button down for 5+ seconds it will power the system down completely. This will allow you to reboot and you should be back up and running at that point.

Good Luck, and welcome to the boards,

    Cory

    Dear Cory,

    Thanks for your response.

However, that did not work as the button itself did not power off the way is should have, so the system stayed on and un-responsive.

It appears the battery is not reachable by us as i did  not find a door or window to access the battery and switch it off. So i left the computer on until it ran out of power after which i switched it back on. Once on, it had re-set itself and its working fine right now.

Thanks once again for your response.
