Its super irritating that the charms pops up when accidentily touching the mousepad to close to the edge.  My PC is not a tablet and why this is activated in the first place is to me sstrange.  I want to completly remove all edge guestures on my mousepad.  I have tryed to install the last driver because someone said that the option was added in the new driver, but no luck.  Please, anyone....

If you want to disable all gesture functions simply uninstall all vendor drivers. Use the Microsoft driver, which is a generic mouse driver.

    Hi,

Welcome to the forums, go to mousepad's propeties and disable "Edgeswipe" and see whether it helps.

    hi...

Accidentally touching the trackpad can trigger the charms bar to appear on the screen. When moving your hands, typing, using the trackpad or resting your hands while typing can all cause the charms to appear.

What you need to do to prevent this problem is press Windows+X and select Control Panel. Open Synaptics ClickPad, or open Mouse and see if there is a tab for configuring the trackpad. Look for an option like Enable Edge Swipes and uncheck it.

Disabling this option will prevent the charms bar from appearing if you accidentally brush the trackpad. It is probably the major cause of charms frustration on laptops. You can still access the charms bar when it is needed and you just need to press Windows+C or move the mouse into the bottom right corner of the screen.Smiley Happy

Maybe my english is not good, but in my initial message I wrote this:

" I have tryed to install the last driver because someone said that the option was added in the new driver, but no luck.  Please, anyone...."

This means, I have downloaded the lates driver (Synaptics clickpad v8.1), and no - There are no options for removing this feature.

Im trying to download the driver directly from Synaptics now and I wil try that instead..

Nope!  New driver from Synaptics was not possible to install at all.  Failed at the beginning of install with an errormessage, telling me to try again.  This is silly!!!  Why cant I turn of edge swiping???

     Hi-

I having been trying for some time to disable the gestures and charms on my Spynaptics ClickPad v8.1 on my brand new Acer Aspire V3 772g.  I have tried every pathway mentioned (that I can find at least) to disable Enable Edge Swipes option...BUT I do not have that as an option or radio button to "unclick" in my settings.

At this point, I'm ready to downgrade to Windows 7 just to get rid of these annoying "functions."

    Any help is much appreciated!!

    Thanks so much,

    Vince

P.S.  If I could attach a screenshot, I'd show you the option listed in Settings, but alas I cannot on the forum.

I'm going to try uninstalling the driver and using the basic Microsoft mouse driver...wish me luck!
